MANTL Site Refresh 2023
Company: MANTL
Role: Brand Designer
Overview
Going into my second year at MANTL, I was given the opportunity to lead a brand and website refresh. The site was starting to feel a bit outdated and there were many areas that could use a revamp. The goal in the site refresh was to implement new design styles and elements to create a cleaner and more consistent feel across all devices while decreasing drop-off and increasing conversion rate by driving traffic to requesting a demo. I collaborated and managed an external agency, Chek Creative, to help design and develop this updated site.
Project Proposal
CREATIVE DIRECTION, PROJECT MANAGEMENT & AGENCY MANAGEMENT
At the beginning of this project, it was important to set expectations in what our end goal was and how we were going to approach this build. I created a project proposal to gain buy-in from our company’s C-Suite. The proposal included an overview, timeline, objectives, core components, strategy and tactics. From there, I worked with Chek Creative to walk-through the timeline for each sprint of the refresh, as they were helping with some of the design and the development of the site. We broke up the site in sections and prioritized the higher level pages to be worked on in the first 3 sprint phases.

Design Approach
CREATIVE DIRECTION & DESIGN
Design for this website refresh was the most fun! The goal again, was to create a more clean and streamlined experience across all devices. The approach was to create a family of modules that would work seamlessly together in a plug and play way to make self serve within our site management platform easier for the team. One of the first design decisions made was to move away from the old wavy module dividers that we had on our previous site as it was scaling inconsistently. We leaned into a straight edge divider to allow more of our other brand elements and copy to shine through, and for a more neat finish across devices.
Other design decisions included use of mini color palettes to create differentiation between product pages. We used the blues when discussing banks, greens for credit unions and orange for loans. On top of that, we also included more product imagery to put it at the center of our site and display some of what makes it so easy to open a bank account in less than 5 minutes. We retained lifestyle imagery to keep our brand human and layered it with our product imagery and blob elements.
